FACILITATORS comes to the end of the Project having validated all OGs

After 28 months of work, FACILITATORS (OG6) is coming to the end of the project. The main objective of the FACILITATORS project, that now finishes, was to validate the building blocks developed in the other parallel operational grants and to regulate the access to facilities services for the space robotics community also beyond this project.

While each OG realizes an independent verification and validation, FACILITATORS have closely worked with the other OGs in order to allow that their specific validation needs, up to system level while in relation to selected demonstration scenario, have been fully covered.

The OG6 team identified for each OG a key partner that has taken on the responsibility of the testing of each of the specific OG based on its experience and facilities characteristics. The partner responsible has actively supported the OGs throughout their validation by providing access to their facilities and supporting the test campaigns, as shown in the table below.

Operational Grant Orbital Planetary
OG1 GMV ADS
OG2 GMV DFKI
OG3 DLR DLR (+DFKI support)
OG4 GMV ADS
OG5 DLR DFKI

On April 25, FACILITATORS project held its Final Presentation at GMV premises, where REA, PSA and all the partners of the consortium reviewed all the projects results, the advances w.r.t state of the art, the tests (orbital and planetary scenarios ) and the conclusions. All the test campaigns have been successfully performed,  and the project has significantly contributed to the success of the first call of the Strategic Research Cluster on Space Robotics.
